About Us

Located at the Palo Alto
Airport, Palo Alto, CA. Palo Alto is central to Silicon
Valley and is located 16 nautical miles southeast of San
Francisco International Airport. It is 11 nautical miles
northwest of San Jose International Airport.
The location provides
training in the complex San Francisco Bay Area airspace with
quick access to 4000 foot mountains for off-airport
experience.

Owner

Rick is an experienced
flight instructor and a successful Intellectual Property
Attorney. He founded Sirius Flying LLC with a fleet including
a Robinson R22 Beta II helicopter, a Husky airplane and a Boeing Stearman biplane.
Rick has logged over 10,000 hours of flying experience.
His mission
is to provide an excellent aviation experience to discerning

John Pyle
Chief Pilot
|
John began his flying career in 1967 flying helicopters as an officer
in the US Army. After training at Ft. Wolters, Texas and
Ft. Rucker, Alabama, he commanded gunship units with the First
Calvary Division in combat in Viet Nam 1967-1968. From
1968 to 1970, he was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina,
where he commanded Headquarters Company, Simmons Army Airfield
Command.
John joined
the Chicago Fire Department from 1970-1972 then flew helicopters in New Zealand in
pilot training, agricultural work,
venison recovery and commercial lifting. In 1991, he began
instructing in California in helicopters and airplanes.
Since 1994, John has been an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner which allows
him
to give flight tests and issue pilot licenses. He has logged
over 14,000 hours of flying.

Certified Flight Instructor

Scott is a Certified Flight
Instructor with an instrument rating. He has been
a flight instructor for several years and has trained many students to get their
Private Pilot certificates, Commercial Pilot certificates, and their Instrument Ratings. He has experience teaching various
commercial operations such as: Agricultural flying, Photo flights, Air tours, Ferry flights and Cross country flights.
He has 1,600 hours of flight instruction experience.
